The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are a wonderful place to have your outdoor wedding. Trust me, the ones I’ve photographed have made beautiful albums for my clients! For ambiance, you can’t beat a combination of old growth trees, splendid architecture and the lovely atmosphere of well tended gardens.

Tessa and Jordan decided to have their wedding there for just that reason, and they’re not enjoying the fruits of their decision!

If you’re thinking of having an outdoor wedding, this might be just the place for you. I put together a video for you so you can get a feel for it and visualize how your celebration might look.

This video also shows Tessa and Jordan meeting each other for the first time as bride and groom–prior to their ceremony!

I’ve often been asked by engaged couples about whether or not they should see one another prior to their wedding. And my answer is always the same:

It’s up to you!

You see, either way, you’re right–if it works for you. With some people, overcoming the stigma of seeing your significant other before the nuptials is pretty daunting, especially if one of you is adamant about sticking with tradition.

But if you’re both cool with it, why not?

I’ve had the privilege of photographing many weddings where tradition is happily set aside in favor of the thrill of seeing your bride or groom for the first time–without the anxiety of the crowd. It’s a thrill to see your bride walking down the aisle as the music swells, and it’s exciting to watch the expression on your groom’s face when he sees you in your lovely dress for the first time, but you’ll get pretty much the same thing with a pre-arranged meeting, and enjoy the added bonus of spending some quality time together, ALONE.
